4 DIY Treatments to Remedy Split Ends
by Michael Doorey (Guest Author - FIT Major in Fragrance and Cosmetics) & Dr. Shamil.

We all aim to have beautiful hair that is shiny, smooth and free of split ends. Of course a trip to the hair salon will cure us of split ends, but with the constant use of heat tools, coloring, brushing, and everyday weather, our hair can become very stressed resulting in dryness and ultimately split ends. The quickest way to get rid of pesky split ends is to simply cut them off. However we all don’t have the time to be visiting the salon so often, which can also be expensive.

Luckily, split ends can be easily treated between trips to the salon. Best of all, these DIY treatments are budget friendly and most ingredients can be found in your kitchen. Giving your hair the appearance of being free from split ends not only increases your confidence but also allows others to see you in your best light.

· Get a spoonful of your favorite coconut oil, and begin to work it into your hair starting at the roots and out to mid – shaft.

· Wrap your hair up in a towel or pin it back and wait 30 minutes

· Repeat once every two weeks

· Transfer this concoction to a medium or large bowl, and then dip your split ends into the bowl evenly coating them
