To distinguish whether you have high or low cheekbones, you can stand under a light to enhance the shadowing on your face and place your thumb on the tragus of the ear and your index finger under the nose. You can then move these fingers toward each other until they meet, which will determine the positioning of your cheekbones. The placement of the malar bone on the face will decipher if you have high or low cheekbones. If this bone is right under the eyes, you have high cheekbones and if it is closer to the lower portion of the nose or further down, you have low cheekbones.
