How To Choose & Buy T-Shirts
T-Shirts - clearly choose and buy the right ones
Every man and woman should have in their closets some t-shirts. They are a must have in every person's closet. It is considered as a classic piece of clothing, along with the little black dress, denim jeans, business suits, and A-line skirts. There are some t-shirts that are very expensive. And if you are the practical type, you do not want to spend hundreds of dollars just to buy one t-shirt that looks just like a t-shirt that costs less than $10. You have to be practical especially in these times of financial hardships. So if you are interested in buying inexpensive t-shirts, here are some factors that you should consider.
Fabric: The best fabric for t-shirts is cotton. You can buy very affordable t-shirts made of cotton. Cotton is a natural fiber, which makes a t-shirt made of cotton "breathe." Cotton is very cool and comfy and is very soft to your skin. You would not want to wear something too scratchy and rigid. After all, you wear t-shirts to be comfortable and relaxed.
Necklines: You might think that t-shirts with different necklines will look the same when worn. That is a wrong notion. T-shirts come in different necklines, such as, scoop or boat neck, V-neck or plunging, and round necklines. Choose the one that is appropriate for your body type. If you have broad shoulders, steer clear from boat or scoop necks because they will only make your shoulders look wider. Choose rounded necklines that close around your collarbone or neck. If you have a big chest, you can wear t-shirts with plunging neckline. This does not apply to men by the way.
Shrinkage: You also have to check whether the fabric will shrink in size or will become loose after several washes. This is one of the most common problems of t-shirts. You can check this by just touching or just by looking at the t-shirt or if you want to get an expert advice, you can ask the sales person or you can research about it on the internet to know which fabrics will shrink in size after washing. I highly recommend hand washing and hang drying t-shirts. This will increase the durability of the t-shirt, while significantly reducing the chances of shrinkage or stretching.
Length: T-shirts in different lengths have become popular in different years or decades. Several years ago, hanging t-shirts became popular, but these days, extra long t-shirts are the "in" thing for women. The best length that will never go out of style is a little above or below your hips. It is flattering for all body types.
Color: Another important consideration is color. Of course, the most basic colors are black and white, and you should have at least one of each color in your closet. You can buy t-shirts in different colors or tones and you can layer them to make them look more interesting. You should wear light colored t-shirts if the weather is hot and dark colored t-shirts if the weather is cold. You should also choose t-shirts based on the color of your pants or shoes, or vice versa, as well as taking into account your complexion and hair color.
Solid versus Pattern: I prefer simple solid color t-shirts than those with a busy pattern or a message. The solid ones will match a number of different outfits and you can wear them often without worrying about anyone noticing you wearing the same t-shirt... (of course you should wash of your t-shirts frequently, as necessary). Pattern t-shirts can be too memorable and so you are less likely to wear them often.
It is easy to find quality inexpensive t-shirts that will look great on your body type. Keep in mind that high quality does not always mean expensive. Just know the things that you should look for in t-shirts and you will be able to find the perfect one for you.
