WOMEN'S SPRING 2021 TRENDS

Guest author - Sara Miloudi (Business Student at the Mediterranean Business School) and Dr. Shamil

We are only a few days into a brand-new year and being up to date on fashion and its trends must be on the top of the list of your new year’s resolution, surely if you’re a fashionista-wanna-be, shopaholic or simply a trendy girl. After all, if you don’t look after yourself and your appearance then nobody will do it for you.

Though 2020 was a quiet year for the fashion world as whole, this couldn't hold back the emergence of new trends, which this post will be reviewing.

Big Shoulders

Vintage-inspired items have played an extremely influential role in this season’s looks, and since we’d like you to hop on the trend, we will point out to the must haves in your closet. Referring to the Spring 2021 runways, bold shoulder appear to be very fashionable with not-so-faint peaks, these not-very-new big shoulders yet still trending, can look alluring on anyone. Balmain, Moschino, Carolina Herrara showcased this style on their most recent runways.

Oversize Pants

Moving to the oversized pants, that are also called the power ones, can work for both active and lazy day. Inspired from the 80’s, these pants appear to be compatible to a walk-around in your neighborhood buying groceries as well as a meet-up with friends around whom you feel comfortable and chill with. Note that the loose trousers were spotted on  the runways of Louis Vuitton, Stella McCartney etc.

Windbreakers

Last but not least, who would have thought that we would fall for sporting staple like the windbreaker. Yes, you heard it right, windbreakers are hitting in Spring 2021 with many different shapes like oversized, cropped, or extra-long. By simply putting your athletic spirit on, hopping on a trend was never this easy.

Concluding Remarks

In a nutshell, mentioning all the fancy brands above doesn’t impose the need to buy them at their sky high prices. On the contrary, designer items provide an inspiration and insight into the trends, but it is always best to shop elsewhere if you are on a tight budget. Discount fashion stores, (such as Zara, H&M, Uniqlo, etc.,), thrift shops and other inexpensive stores can give you these latest cool looks without breaking your bank. Remember that fashion is not measured by how much money you spend on a piece, it is genuinely measured by your thoughtful taste and unique ethos and style.
