Spicy Turnips Cooked in Mustard

Ingredients
2 lb of turnips pealed and cut into circles, quarter inch thick
1 medium size red onion thinly sliced
1/2 tsp of crushed yellow mustard seeds
1 1/2 tbs of Dijon mustard
1 tbs of olive oil
1/2 tsp of cayenne
1/2 tsp of tumeric
1/2 tsp of garlic powder
1/2 tsp of red chilly flakes
1 tbs of lime juice
4 tbs of water
1/4 tsp of garam masala
1 tbs of dry cilantro
Season with salt to taste

Instructions
Saute onions and mustard seeds in olive oil in a pan
Add turnips to the pan with the all other ingredients barring cilantro and garam masala
Cook on low heat for 25 minutes until turnips are done
Sprinkle garam masala and garnish the dish with cilantro
Should yield 3 generous size servings. Turpins provide a good source of starch and a great alternative to potatoes or rice.
