The science behind strong jawlines

Based on scientific evidence, it is well known that women are innately more attracted to facial features that are perceived to be masculine, such as a slim structured face shape, hollow cheeks, high cheekbones, large noses, small eyes, and a strong & squared jawbone. All these features are indications of high testosterone levels, which biologically speaking draws the attention of women. Regarding evolution, humans have always naturally had a primal need to reproduce. Tying this together, it makes perfect sense that a women would naturally be more attracted to features that represent high testosterone levels, since this directly relates to strong virility in men, and ultimately the ability to reproduce healthy offspring.

Why women are naturally attracted to strong jawlines

Expanding on this concept that a strong jawline can reflect that a man can reproduce healthy offspring, due to high testosterone levels, it has also been found that this can be linked with a stronger immune system. Recent studies have shown that men with high testosterone levels and certain stress hormones also have stronger immune systems. This explains why a woman’s brain will connect a strong jawline on a man with health, and ultimately make women more attracted to men with this feature.

How to achieve a strong jawline 

All in all, it is important to live a healthy lifestyle in order to look healthy. For example, a man may have a strong jawline that isn’t visible if it is covered by fat. So, get fit by losing weight and you may possibly gain a jawline! 


However, there are many ways that men can achieve the illusion of a strong jawline. First, growing a beard will assist in giving a man more definition around the chin and give the appearance of a stronger jawline.


In addition, there are also many exercises that can build up the jaw muscles and lead to a more defined look, such as:
  • Neck Curl Up: Lay on your back with the tongue pressed on the roof of the mouth to activate the front neck muscles. Then bring your chin to chest and lift your head about 2 inches off the ground, without lifting the stomach or poking your chin out.
  • Chin Up: While your mouth is closed, push your lower jaw out and lift your lower lip. Hold this position for 10 to 15 seconds.
  • Vowel Sounds: Open your mouth wide then make the sound of an ‘O’ and an ‘E’, exaggerating these sounds and movements.
Procedures for a stronger jawline 



In addition to these methods, there is also a variety of non-invasive procedures available that are designed to create definition in the jaw area. Check out the great work of Dr. Steven J. Only a small amount of filler is needed to create a dramatic difference that still looks natural overall.

Overall, of course these procedures are not a necessity, but based on the importance of a strong jawline, it should be noted that anyone can achieve this look, albeit with some effort, if not naturally blessed with one.  Go for it, if you can afford it, is what I say, as it will not only make you good but feel great and most likely increase your confidence and self-esteem, which others can detect accurately, increasing further your perceived physical appeal.
