Tavern on the Green International (not affiliated with Tavern on the Green restaurant in Central Park, NYC) is introducing an innovative new product called Tavern Green Coffee. This product brews like coffee and tastes like tea. 

Using the proprietary MycoSmooth™ process, green coffee beans are now available in a smooth tasting beverage that’s sweetener-free. The MycoSmooth™ process produces Tavern Green Coffee that can be brewed in a coffee pot or steeped in a tea pot (the finished beverage has consistency and taste reminiscent of tea and is best served with no added whitener or sweetener).

In recent years, green coffee extract supplements have exploded onto the market, all claiming healthy and effective weight loss results. Not only can it help people lose weight, but green coffee has been found to contain many health benefits. Some of these benefits include lowering blood sugar levels, decreasing cholesterol, increasing energy, detoxifying the liver, and most importantly burning stored fat.

Research suggests that the reason people burn fat is due to the abundance of chlorogenic acid in the unroasted green coffee beans. The MycoSmooth™ process removes the bitterness and imbues the green coffee with immune boosting beta-Glucans from gourmet mushrooms. The process involves using the root structure of specific mushrooms to neutralize the bitterness of the coffee beans while simultaneously infusing the powerful nutritional benefits of the mushrooms back into the coffee bean without leaving a mushroom taste. Once the bitterness has been removed by the mushroom inoculation, the coffee beans are then dried and ground raw and ready to brew a cup of coffee.
