Reduce Sweating and Odor

Naturally Remedies to Reduce or Control Excessive Sweating and Odor

Excessive sweating is quite unsightly at all times, perhaps with the gym being the only exception. Even there, I don’t like seeing women sweat. In fact, I believe that women should glisten, men should perspire and only PIGS should sweat!!

I do understand that excessive sweating is a common problem for many people. Fortunately, there are many products, which are designed to reduce or control how much you sweat, such as prescription strength Secret's Clinical Strength deodorant and Certain Dri deodorant. However, there are a number of different things that you can do in order to naturally reduce or control sweating. Many of these ways to naturally reduce excessive sweating only require you to make simple changes. Here are some natural remedies that can control your sweating problems.

Facial Scrubs: Wether you sweat on your back or underneath your arms, one of the first things that you may want to think about doing is using facial scrub on the area where you sweat. This will often provide complete relief to those who experience excessive sweating problems, so it is probably one of the first methods that you may want to try. The reason that it works so well is because it exfoliates the skin, which will ultimately help unclog your pores. Due to this, you may experience more sweating at first. However, after all of the toxins, which may have been trapped inside your pores, are released, you will likely notice a reduction in how much and how frequently you sweat. It is important to keep in mind that you should not use facial scrub any more than three times a week.

Cornstarch or Baby Powder: It is a well known fact that baby powder can help assist you with your sweating problem. Cornstarch works much the same way that baby powder does. The way that both corn starch and baby powder works to help with a sweat problem is by absorbing the sweat. While it may not necessarily stop you from sweating, it is a great way to control this very common problem. You can use corn starch or baby powder on pretty much any area of your body that you experience a lot of sweating from, whether it be your underarms, your back or any place else.

Turnip Juice: Turnip juice is known to be very effective for reducing excessive sweat. The way that it works is by reducing the amount of activity that goes on inside the sweat glands. The main thing that you are probably wondering is how to get natural turnip juice. The concept is quite easy - all that you need to do is grate the turnip up and squeeze it. Then, apply it underneath your armpits, or wherever else it is that you have been sweating. Some people find that it is also effective to drink turnip juice, but the preference is all yours.

Sage Tea: A method that is not well known, but is known to be very effective by those who have tried it, is sage tea. The way that it works is the same way that turnip juice works, by reducing the amount of activity that goes on inside the sweat glands. All that you need to do in order to take advantage of the sweat reducing benefits of sage tea is drink one to two cups every day.

Baking Soda: Baking soda is known to work much the same way that cornstarch or baby powder would, by absorbing the sweat. It is also believed that it may help by unclogging your skin's pores, which will eventually help your body release all of the toxins that may be trapped inside the pores. It is important to make sure that you do not overuse baking soda, as doing so may be bad for the skin. Only using it once to twice a week is probably your best option.

Dietary Changes: Although you may not realize it, chances are that certain foods that you are eating may be the main reason that you sweat excessively. There are certain foods that are known to be "sweat foods," or in other words, foods that can cause you to sweat excessively. Some of the most well known sweat foods include garlic, onions, spices, and caffeine. While eating foods that are high in water content, such as fruits and vegetables, may not necessarily reduce perspiration, they may help you reduce the awful body odor that is often experience when you do sweat excessively.

Lemon Juice: All that you need to do is apply lemon juice to the area that sweats excessively, whether it is from the actual fruit or from a bottle of pre-squeezed lemon juice. This method is typically used for those who cannot seem to eliminate the body odor that is associated with excessive sweating. The reason that it is believed to work so well is because the acid found in lemon juice is known to kill the odor. Lemon juice is not, however, known to end a sweating problem.

Zinc: Much like lemon juice, zinc works to provide relief to the body odor that you may be experiencing due to your excessive sweat. All that you need to do in order to take advantage of the odor relieving benefits that zinc has to offer is take it once a day, in pill form. Be sure to talk to your doctor before taking zinc and read the instructions on the back of the bottle, as you would when taking any type of supplement.

Colon Cleanse: This may be one of the last things that you want to do if you are trying to figure out a way to reduce or control how much you sweat. While there is not a whole lot of significant evidence to support this, many claim that a colon cleanse helps reduce how much they sweat. Others feel that colon cleansing can help eliminate the body odor associated with excessive sweat. If all else has failed, perhaps colon cleansing is worth a try.

Money Saving Tips For Your Kitchen

Every penny Counts - start saving in your kitchen with these tips

Use your Oven for Double Duty
Any time you are using your oven, always use that heat to your advantage. If you are preparing a meatloaf, throw in some potatoes wrapped in foil or a veggie packet w/seasonings and wrap in foil. Even after your meal is ready, use the heat to make some low fat muffins or warming up a pie. Also, you can prepare extras for a meal later in the week.

Paper Towels

These are sometimes over looked as an expensive item. In fact, paper towels are very expensive. If an average household used two rolls a week, and the cost was $3.50 a week, then, in one year that adds up to $150.00. Go to your local discount stores and stock up on tea towels and always keep these handy within easy reach and the paper towels inside a cabinet.

Top 5 Meal Stretchers

Always have these five items in your pantry.

(1) Pasta; can always be a main dish and in combination with some other ingredients you will have a great meal.

(2) Canned Salmon and Tuna; a very inexpensive source of protein that goes great on top of salads, fish patties or stir into pasta.

(3) Frozen Veggies; these are great for casseroles or stir-fry.

(4) Rice; try instant plain rice, you can add your own ingredients and seasoning. You have a lot of choices from, wild, yellow or try boxed rice with its own seasoning. Serve with spicy beans, grilled chicken or salmon.

(5) Canned beans; always have several types of beans in your pantry. Once again there are a lot of choices, use all to your advantage. Add to soups, chili or top of salad. You can also blend beans into dips.

Pimples and Zits - Basic Info

Skin Break Outs

Pimples and zits are interchangeable words used to describe bumps, blackheads or whiteheads that commonly appear on your face, neck or back. Pimples and zits usually appear by themselves or in clusters of one or possibly two. The difference between pimples and acne is that acne tends to appear in groups, and can cover a large portion of your face. Acne is more extreme than pimples or zits.

Zits always seem to appear at exactly the wrong time. Like the day before your prom you might notice a pimple forming right on the tip of your nose. Or a nasty breakout is likely to occur right before you're set to perform a speech in front of hundreds of people. Well you're not alone, in fact 90-percent of the teenage population have experienced some form of acne by the time they are 17-years-old. In order to prevent acne, you must first understand what causes it.

Below you'll find a list of causes that contribute to your break outs and simple solutions:

Puberty
Every teenager experiences puberty at some point. Puberty causes a teen's hormone levels to fluctuate. These "raging hormones" often cause break outs. If puberty is the cause of your break outs, you'll have to make the most of it until it passes. Puberty usually lasts a couple of years at most. However you can use a variety of over-the-counter acne treatments (such as Clearasil) to lessen your acne.

Eating Habits
Eating unhealthy, greasy foods has been known to contribute to pimples and break outs. Unhealthy foods such as french fries, chocolate and pizza contain oil and salt - ingredients that affect the skin's pH balance negatively. Avoid eating these foods - and especially touching your face with salty, oily fingers - whenever possible.

Stress
Many researchers have proven that stress is linked to acne. When you're stressed out because of an important date or exam, your sebaceous glands tend to produce more pore-clogging oil. De-stress by taking baths or exercising to let off steam.
Poor Hygiene
In the past poor hygiene was associated with acne. Although it's been proven that people with varying degrees of personal hygiene can still suffer breakouts, acne and pimples do occur when oil, dirt and makeup are not washed off - especially before bedtime. Cleansing your face with a gentle cleanser and lukewarm water is recommended twice a day.

Acne may appear regardless of the measures you take to prevent it from happening. Just remember that you're not alone and that there are many individuals suffering from acne like you. If you suffer from severe acne, please consult a dermatologist

Eat Brocoli for Muscle Growth

Brocoli - include this in your diet to increase lean mass

Broccoli contains a moderate amount of calcium, which is responsible for combating calcitriol (a compound that tries to suppress your body's ability to break down fat storage). Moreover, broccoli contains 'relatives' to amino acids that help protect against stress, provide cell
defense, and ultimately combat certain types of cancer. Furthermore, broccoli contains indole-3-carbinol, a muscle-friendly compound that appears to abate the effects of estrogen, encourage higher testosterone levels, reduce body fat, limit negative water retention, and increase muscle growth.

How You Should Eat Broccoli

I prefer to cook/steam broccoli in the microwave. This is very simple and quick. Just place your broccoli in a microwaveable-safe dish and then pour a little bit of water (roughly two tablespoons per 1½ cup of broccoli) over the broccoli. Loosely cover the dish with a lid and microwave on high for about 2 minutes. Drain excess water and serve steamed broccoli with any low fat dressing of your choice for added flavor.

Why You Should Eat Walnuts

Walnuts - a healthy, satisfying snack

High in protein and "good" monounsaturated fat, walnuts add a satisfying crunch to many meals and snacks. Walnuts are not only rich in flavor, but they also offer valuable health benefits. Packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants — walnuts unlike other nuts — also contain a healthy dose of omega-3 fatty acids, which are essential for good heart health and brain funciton.

When substituted for saturated fat in the diet, walnuts can help lower total blood cholesterol and triglycerides, and they tackle that bad LDL cholesterol without affecting levels of good HDL cholesterol.

Types of Walnuts:
While there are three varieties of walnuts, you're most likely to find English walnuts — the most common type — in your supermarket. Black walnuts are less common but can be found in specialty stores, while butternut, or white walnuts, are very hard to find in the marketplace.

Choosing Walnuts:
When buying walnuts in the shell, look for those with undamaged shells. Shake the nuts, if you can: If the nuts feel extra light or rattled when shaken, they may be dried out inside. If you’re buying shelled walnuts, look for a freshness date on the package. Only buy nuts in bulk if you know the store has a high turnover rate.

Storing Walnuts:
Walnuts are perishable and will spoil over time — particularly if they're exposed to heat, humidity, and light. To prevent nuts from spoiling, keep them in a cool, dry place. Walnuts left in their shells will stay fresh for about six months. Eat shelled nuts within four months. If you want to keep your nuts for a longer period of time, store them in the freezer for up to one year.

Enjoying Walnuts:
You may find walnuts in delicious whole-grain breads in your supermarket. Add some chopped walnuts to oatmeal, desserts, salads and dips, or enjoy them whole as a satisfying and tasty snack.

Rules for Men's Dress Shirts

Men's Dress Shirt - simple guidelines to help you make the rigth choice

Most men buy dress shirts in three ways: from a catalog, off a hanger, or from a custom tailor. While the latter method is preferable, it’s also usually the most expensive.

In all cases, the most important thing is to know your size. Not simply small, medium, or large, but knowing the length of your arms and the girth of your neck when you shop. If you don’t know, go to a custom shirt-shop and have an astute salesman wrap you with measuring tape. Write the numbers down and memorize them as if they were a pass-code to style supremacy. This pass-code, however, is not a universal standard. Whereas one size 16-35 can make you look nearly tailored, another could drape you uncomfortably.

Always try the shirt on to check out the fit and how it feels and also sample the shirt before closing the sale. Sampling means noticing how the shirt is made. Examine the stitching, the buttons, the hemming. Shirts, while more expendable than suits, are worth the money they cost, to a point. No shirt, unless it’s made-to-measure, is worth more than $150. If you’re going to spend more than that, have it made for your body type.

COLLAR SELECTION IS KEY TO YOUR STYLE

There are a variety of collars available for men's dress shirts:

Straight:
Possibly the most standard of collars in the world of men's dress shirts. This collar aims in varying degrees of ‘down.’ There are a number of ‘spreads’ available in straight collars, the ‘spread’ being the amount of space visible between the collars, at the neck, where a tie might sit.

Spread:
A straight collar that’s been spread to the point of not being considered straight anymore. This collar is also sometimes referred to as the ‘cutaway’ collar, for the large amount of visible space between collar tips; it’s also called the ‘British Spread,’ because it’s popular and has a European feel to it. Due to their construction, spread collars are typically slightly less-wide than straight collars. This collar, too, is available in a variety of spread distances.

Button-Down:
The collar that’s affixed to the shirt, popular with prep schools, and consulting firms. I.e., can look quite squarish, depending on how you wear it. Never wear the collar unbuttoned. And don’t snip off the buttons to make it a non-button-down shirt, you’ll still be left with buttonholes in the collar, and undoubtedly people will notice.

Curved:
A straight collar that has a slight curve outwards from the face. It’s a different look, for a different type of man. Yes, just different. The mirror may be needed to tell you if your "different" is good or bad in this instance.

Tab:
A collar that has a small snap-tab connecting the two collar sides together. The tab really has no true use.

Banded:
Quite simply, no collar – just a button at the neck.

TEST YOUR MEN'S DRESS SHIRTS FOR GOOD FIT

Whether you are checking the men's dress shirts you already own or are trying on a shirt that you are considering for purchase, you can use these guidelines to test the fit of the shirt:

1. Button the dress shirt to the top. You should be able to slide two or three fingers between your neck and collar.

2. Bend your arm. Sleeves should be long enough so that cuffs do not ride up your wrist when you move your arm.

3. Check that cuffs are snug and do not hang over your hand. You should not be able to slip into shirt sleeves without first undoing buttons on the cuff.

4. Make sure the shirt does not pull uncomfortably across the chest or waist.

5. Inspect the buttons: they should be well-placed with no gaping holes exposing your chest.

6. Raise your arms and check that shirt tails do not come out of your pants.

CHOOSING SHIRT COLOR

It is always important to consider the occasion when choosing a color for your men’s dress shirts. Are you buying men's dress shirts for job interviews, or are you looking to dress up more fashionably?

For an interview, choose conservative colors. A light blue is usually the safest. White is very formal color. Greys are also generally safe.

If you are looking to portray a much more lively image, choose brighter, unconventional colors. Bright greens, oranges and purple are relatively popular, as well as pink.
